Born and raised in the Virgin Islands, Charlotte has become my second home away from home. I moved here in 2004/2005 and got into the food industry.
When COVID came around, I wanted to maintain a healthier income and start pursuing the dreams and visions God placed in me. I started making t-shirts, then moved into beaded jewelry. Entrepreneurship came from realizing I wanted more out of life than living paycheck to paycheck, and more money than bills.
Food came into the picture because I got tired of going places I enjoyed and the food not being consistent every visit. I decided to cater to people who may have felt the same way I did.
After praying for guidance on this new journey, I invested $500 into my newfound passion. With just a tent, two tables, and a cooler, my life changed. Within a couple months of hard work, dedication, and prayer, everything I dreamed about was coming to life one sold-out day at a time.
I raised enough money to purchase my first of three trailers. Rushing the process, I took my first major $12,000 loss. My first attempt was a scam and I lost everything I had been working so hard for, but it did not stop me. It lit a fire in me I did not know existed.
Months later, the second purchase was a success, and off that success came the purchase of my third trailer. There is a saying: more money, more problems, and it is very true. Since then, my trucks and trailers have been stolen five times over the years.
No matter what came my way, it never broke my faith or stopped me from what God had planned for me to do for His people.
Word of mouth, faith, and determination built my business.
